Mental Note to Self RE: Celery
So I tried a juicing recipe which called for pineapple and celery. Now pineapple juice I already now I love! However, I figured I'd try to get some vegetables in to my drink too. The recipe said that the combination would be salty and sweet. So I followed the directions, cut up my pineapple and my celery and fed them into the juicer as instructed.
The result: not quite the "salty and sweet" I was expecting. I tasted, well....pineapple and celery. Yikes! I don't really care for celery so I was hoping that I wouldn't really be able to taste it. I haven't given up on the recipe just yet though. I think I just use less celery next time. I'll let you know how it goes.

What Peaked My Juicing Interest
Of course I've heard of juicing a long, long time ago. But only now, yes now, in 2008 am I finally really, seriously interested in juicing. Why? Well, aside from what I mentioned in my last post, I finally had a first hand experience with it.For our 12th wedding anniversary, my husband and I were treated to a breakfast buffet at a local hotel. It just so happened that the breakfast buffet included a juicing station. To be honest, I wasn't all that interested in it. It didn't look all that appetizing to me. My husband, however, was the one that wanted to give it a try. So he went over and made himself some pineapple juice. I decided to give it a try to and juiced a spear of pineapple, a piece of apple, and a piece of carrot. Still, the juice didn't look all that appetizing and I certainly wasn't all that sure of the combination I had chosen because I knew absolutely nothing about how to juice at that time. Funny thing is though, when I finally decided to take a tentative sip of my juicing creation, I was utterly surprised at the taste! It was great. My juice actually tasted good! Sweet and tasty, nice and cold, it was a very refreshing part of my morning.
That experience is what made me realize that juicing might actually work for my family. Heck if it tastes great AND is healthy for you, why not make it a part of your life?

I'm Getting Started with Juicing
Yay! I'm getting started with juicing. I'm a very busy fastpitch softball coach and parent and I needed a way to get more nutrients into my families diet quickly and easily. So, I decided to learn everything I could about juicing and I'm putting it all together for you here at this website in the form of free tips, short reports, and downloadable guides. If you're looking for a way to pack much needed nutrients into your tight fastpitch softball schedule, I hope this website is just what you're looking for!
Aside from being extra busy this softball season, I also have a husband who is grumbling to me about helping him lose weight as well as my oldest daughter asking me how she can gain more weight and grow more. I know that our diets are suffering nutritionally because of our reliance on fast food, take out, pre-made meals, and packaged foods from the grocery store due to our hectic softball schedule. That's why juicing really appealed to me to begin with.
I'd heard about juicing before, but in my next post, I'll tell you what really peaked my interest in juicing.
