I Like Drinking Carrots

I like eating them too, but juicing them is also pretty cool (minus the dirt of course). I really didn't think I'd like drink carrot juice. It sounds gross. Maybe because it reminds me of tomato juice which I do NOT like (at least not the commercial version anyway). So I was surprised when I tasted carrot juice and like it. Then again, as I stated earlier, I do like to eat carrots so maybe I shouldn't have been all that surprised that I like drinking them too.
One thing I tried in addition to straight carrot juice was pineapple carrot juice. It was interesting. Not bad, but certainly not a flavor you taste on an every day basis.
If you're just getting started with juicing, carrots are a good vegetable to try. They are kind of a "base" for many vegetable juices. Plus they are really great for anti-oxidant reasons.
The only problem I have with juicing carrots is that my son grabs 'em and eats 'em before they get a chance to get juiced.

Mental Note to Self RE: Celery
So I tried a juicing recipe which called for pineapple and celery. Now pineapple juice I already now I love! However, I figured I'd try to get some vegetables in to my drink too. The recipe said that the combination would be salty and sweet. So I followed the directions, cut up my pineapple and my celery and fed them into the juicer as instructed.
The result: not quite the "salty and sweet" I was expecting. I tasted, well....pineapple and celery. Yikes! I don't really care for celery so I was hoping that I wouldn't really be able to taste it. I haven't given up on the recipe just yet though. I think I just use less celery next time. I'll let you know how it goes.
