5 Time Saving Juicing Tips

Juicing is a great way to stay healthy. There are many cases of people who have lost weight, boosted energy, and overall health by doing a regular daily juice program. In the beginning it can seem like a lot of work. Here are a few time saving tips to help you get started.

1) Prepare vegetables in advance

One of the most time consuming parts of juicing is preparing your vegetables before juicing. If you have a tight schedule and find it hard to fit the process into your day, try preparing your vegetables first thing in the morning, or the night before you will need them. Then when you have a free moment you can just "juice away", you will find that when the vegetables ready to go you will be less likely to skip juicing on hectic days.

2) Use a liner to save clean-up time

The other time consuming task is the clean-up after juicing. If you use a liner in the juicer for the discarded part of the fruits and vegetables you can keep the catcher clean and save time. Use the plastic produce bags that you bring home from the grocery store or purchase specially made biodegradable liners.

3) Buy organic and no need to peel.

One of the advantages of buying organic produce is that you will not need to peel certain vegetables before juicing. Take organic carrots for example; give them a good wash, trim the ends and you are good to go. Plus by juicing the skin you will be sure to get all the nutrients found just under the surface. The problem with pesticide treated produce is that the chemical can rest in the skin.

4) Buy and freeze bananas

Certain fruits can go bad if they sit around too long. If you use bananas in your recipes you can buy a large quantity and freeze half of them. Just peel the bananas to be frozen and put them in baggies (great for frozen smoothie recipes). You will be less likely to run out and will save trips to the store.

5) Buy a juicer with large mouth

If your budget allows this can be a big one. Most of the "high end" juicers are able to handle bigger quantities of fruits and vegetables. A juicer with a smaller mouth will require you to cut an apple into four sections before it will fit. With the more expensive juicers you can put in the whole apple, or a bunch of carrots instead of one or two at a time. These juicers are great if you juice for more than one person at a time.
